Au début des années 1980, Pierre Durand décide d'abandonner la profession juridique et de se consacrer à sa vraie passion: le concours de saut d'obstacles. Il met tous ses espoirs sur le cheval "Jappeloup", car celui-ci peut sauter comme une gazelle. Personne n'y croit car l'animal est considéré comme difficile et trop petit. Avec "Jappeloup" Durrand va de victoire en victoire, sans parvenir aux Jeux olympiques. Peuvent le cavalier et son cheval faire un retour?

Zu Beginn der 1980er Jahre entscheidet sich Pierre Durrand, die Karriere als Jurist sausen zu lassen und sich seiner wahren Leidenschaft zu widmen: dem Springreiten. Er setzt alle Hoffnung auf das Pferd "Jappeloup", ist dabei aber ziemlich allein, da das Tier als dickköpfig gilt und schlichtweg zu klein ist. Aber es kann springen wie ein junger Gott. Mit "Jappeloup" eilt Durrand von einem Sieg zum nächsten, doch bei den Olympischen Spielen scheitern Reiter und Ross. Gelingt beiden noch das Comeback?

At the beginning of the 1980s, Pierre Durrand decides to pack in the legal profession and todevote himself to his true passion: show jumping. He puts all his hopes on the horse"Jappeloup", but is pretty much alone, as the animal is considered to be difficult and too small. But it can jump like a gazelle. With "Jappeloup" Durrand goes from one victory to the next, butfails at the Olympic Games. Can the rider and his steed make a comeback?
