Vincent (Patrick Bruel), la quarantaine triomphante, va être père pour la première fois. Invité à dîner chez Élisabeth (Valérie Benguigui) et Pierre (Charles Berling), sa soeur et son beau-frère, il y retrouve Claude (Guillaume de Tonquédec), un ami d’enfance.

En attendant l’arrivée d’Anna (Judith El Zein), sa jeune épouse éternellement en retard, on le presse de questions sur sa future paternité dans la bonne humeur générale... Mais quand on demande à Vincent s’il a déjà choisi un prénom pour l’enfant à naître, sa réponse plonge la famille dans le chaos.

Der erfolgreiche Mittvierziger Vincent sieht zum ersten Mal Vaterfreuden entgegen. Seine Schwester Élisabeth und ihr Mann Pierre laden ihn zum Abendessen ein, wo er seinen Jugendfreund Claude wiedertrifft. Während die Gruppe gemeinsam auf Vincents junge, ständig zu spät kommende Frau Anna wartet, machen sie sich schmunzelnd über den werdenden Vater Vincent lustig. Doch seine Antwort auf die Frage, ob er schon einen Namen für das Baby ausgesucht habe, löst einhellige Entrüstung aus.

Vincent (Patrick Bruel), a successful man in his middle 40s, will be a father for the first time. Invited to dinner at Elizabeth (Valerie Benguigui) and Pierre's (Charles Berling) place, his sister and brother-in-law, he finds that Claude (Guillaume de Tonquédec), a childhood friend, has also been invited.

Pending the arrival of Anna (Judith El Zein), his young wife who is eternally late, Vincent, banters with the others over his future fatherhood. But when Vincent reveals the chosen name of his unborn child, the family is plunged into chaos.
