Diamant brut is a 2024 French coming-of-age drama written and directed by Agathe Riedinger in her feature directorial debut. The film made its world premiere in Official Competition at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival, competing for the prestigious Palme d’Or. Set in the South of France, the film follows Liane, a bold, fiery 19-year-old living with her erratic mother and younger sister. Obsessed with physical beauty, social media influence, and a deep longing to be loved and noticed, Liane views reality television as her ticket out of obscurity.
