Set during the 1950s, the film captures a pivotal chapter in the life of the artist Niki de Saint Phalle. Fleeing the conservative environment and political turmoil of McCarthy-era United States, young mother and model Niki moves to Paris with her husband, writer Harry Mathews, and their daughter. Struggling with severe trauma, panic attacks, and personal pain, Niki finds healing and purpose through creative expression.
